Chairman's Column by Club Chairman – Matthew Busby

The 2011 season is fast approaching and after a couple of very difficult seasons I'm looking forward to this season with much greater optimism. Thanks mainly to the efforts of Michael Dove and Gavin Lever we have managed to recruit a number of experienced players with proven records at this level who should fit in well with the ever increasing and improving crop of youngsters at the club. This should give us greater stability in terms of player numbers and performances on the field. I'd also like to thank the rest of the committee for all their hard work, the people who very kindly sponsor the club and all the supporters who have provided us with the incentive to keep going ready for a return to our trophy winning years of only a few seasons ago. Good luck to both captains and vice-captains and all the players for the coming season!

President's Column by Club President – Harry Foote

Well the cricket season is upon us again! The seasons seem to come and go so quickly now. It must be an age thing! It was very much a rebuilding season last year for the club. Mike Dove did a fantastic job as 1st XI Captain. He lost a lot of experienced players from the squad and was brave enough to blood younsters who did themselves and the club proud. Lets hope for more of the same this year! Congratulations to Gavin Lever for becoming 2nd XI Captain. I am sure he will continue to do a great job at nurturing the youngsters coming through the ranks! Here's to a much more successful 2011 for the club!

Season Preview by 1st XI Captain – Mike Dove

As captain I'm really looking forward to this season. We have had a tough couple of years as a club, seeing changes behind the scenes and on the field. Last season saw youngsters like Arran Hobley, Aston Leach, Joe Burgess and Will Potter make a name for themselves in the 1st XI which is great for the club's future. We also welcomed Mike Williams and Matthew Neilson to the club and they made an impact so things look positive on the rebuilding side of things. Along with the experienced players, new signings and the talented young players I am really hopeful that we can be a force to be reckoned with this year. I would like to wish Gavin Lever all the best as 2nd XI Captain. He deserves the job after so much great work as vice captain to Dave Burgess and Tim Adair before him. I would also like to wish everyone associated with the club a successful and enjoyable 2011 season!

Season Preview by 2nd XI Captain – Gavin Lever

The 2nd XI are looking forward to a more successful season after a rather disappointing 2010 season which was due more to 1st XI's player unavailability than poor form. We are very much looking to be in the promotion shake up this season. My main priority this season is to get everyone enjoying their cricket again and give experience to the impressive amount of young talent coming through again at the club. Along with the experienced players in the squad I am very positive that we can make a big impact on the league this year! As captain my role will be to guide the team through the season ensuring that all the players are given opportunities to express themselves and contribute towards the clubs continued progress on and off the field.
